I join the Weight Watchers e-Site

I don't know if throwing money at problems is the answer, but I did today. I joined Watchers e-site, and I left the following message

"Good morning guys. New to these message boards, but not to Weight Watchers. Lost some, gained some. Core seems the answer for me, but I am having a problem getting a solid week in. Sunday morning meeting, and then I'm normally good until about Thursday. My holiday season is basically over until New Years Eve, so I am hoping to get two good weeks in right here.

Look forward to seeing and hearing from many of you."

Just so you should know one ground rule. If anyone posts to this site in response, it will be posted.

If anyone responds on the Weight Watchers website, IT WILL BE ANONYMOUS!

This is time after surgery

I am 46 years old, and I had heart valve replacement surgery on Valentines Day 2003. I found out that I needed the surgery becuase I had a stroke. I walked away from the stroke, which is a good thing, because I know a few things about brain-damaged people, and I do not want to know any more from personal experience.

I am always trying to lose weight.

I had this blog site on my mind during my Weight Watchers meeting this morning.

I think it was December 20, 2002, or maybe December 19, 2002, two years ago today, that I first realized I was very very sick. That was the day that my dad went into to have his carotid artery cleaned out. Compared to the prior procedures that dad went through, this seemed to be very minor stuff. However, I was unusually worried for him. Maybe because I wasn't feeling too good myself.

I felt a great deal of tightness in my chest. I was having dizzy spells. I couldn't walk up the hill to get to the subway. I thought I was just too overweight for my own good. I had weighed 257 at one point in 2003, but now my weight was down in the 240s, although I did not remember doing anything special to lose the weight.

While the carotid artery procedure was occuring, I mentioned to my mom that I wasn't feeling so well. We both agreed it was the tension relating to my dad's procedure.

My father got out of the hospital 2 days later. Two weeks after that, he drove from New York to Florida. I continued to feel sick.

More next time.
